Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
Photoyam (“we”, “us”, the “Service”) is a free, browser-based image editor and set of image/PDF tools available at photoyam.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Service does and does not collect, and how it is used. By using Photoyam you agree to the practices described here.
The short version
- Your images and files never leave your device. Photoyam has no backend that receives your files. Every edit, conversion, resize, crop and export runs locally inside your browser tab.
- We do not require an account. There is no sign-up, no login and no user profile.
- We use privacy-respecting analytics and advertising (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Google AdSense), which rely on cookies as described below.
Files you open in Photoyam
When you open an image or PDF in Photoyam, the file is read and processed entirely by your own browser using standard web technologies (Canvas, Web Workers and related APIs). The file is never uploaded to a server — there is no server to upload it to. When you close or reload the tab, anything you were working on is gone unless you explicitly export and save it to your device. An optional in-browser autosave may store a working copy locally (in your browser’s IndexedDB/localStorage) so you can recover an unsaved document after an accidental close; that data stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.
Information we collect automatically
Like most websites, we use third-party analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (for example, which tools are popular and whether pages load correctly). These services may collect standard technical information such as your approximate region, device and browser type, referring page, and interactions with the page. This data is aggregated and is not used to personally identify you.
- Google Analytics 4 — traffic and usage measurement. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Clarity — aggregate usage and performance insights (e.g. heatmaps). See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Cookies and advertising
Photoyam is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads. To do this, Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Photoyam and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google’s policy and its advertising technologies page.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers let you block third-party cookies entirely. Doing so will not affect the core image-editing features, which run locally regardless of cookies.
Users in the EEA, UK and California
Where required by law, our advertising partners present a consent mechanism for the use of cookies and personalized advertising. You may withdraw or change your choices at any time using the controls linked above. We do not sell personal information. Because we do not operate accounts or collect directly identifying information, we hold no personal profile to access or delete on our side; requests relating to data held by our analytics or advertising providers should be directed to those providers using the links above.
Children
Photoyam is a general-audience tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
